  1. I was in Laurel’s class in 3rd grade at Foxboro Elementary. I remember when Laurel broke her nose. One day when we were running the track, Laurel told me what it was like to have surgery on her nose. She would show off her AMAZING tricks. She was the nicest friend and person that I knew. I still remember the phone call that we got in class. After school that day, I said to my mom, “I hope that Laurel doesn’t die.” My mom said, “What makes you say that?” I told her about the phone call we got. She was always my math partner in class. She was SO good at it! When we found out that she died, I could not stop crying that day. I remember that I had homework club at school that day. I didn’t want to go. That day was the saddest day of my life. My classmates had an extra desk in class that we’d say was “Laurel’s desk.” My class and I always miss her. I miss you Laurel.

  2. After Laurel passed, we all missed her so much and the Sunday after as we all met for Sunday school. I appointed one of the fold out chairs to be laurels. We looked for the one that was the most white most pure out of all of them. The one that had the least scratches. We were always able to find an untouched chair for her. After a while we stopped putting up a chair for her but now there’s always an empty seat and while it’s not appointed laurels chair. I like to think she sitting there listening in on the lessons.
